I got his service record from this board, Mr Alan Pitts did the research.
His records show he was captured on 3 April 1865 at City Point Va and released on June 14 1865. The Oath of Allegiance is also dated 14 June 1865.
The POW register shows he was recieved on 7 April 1865 by Capt McCalliam and was assigned to Company 6.
I have not been able to find any thing on him after the war.

Being a two tour VietNam vet, stories of any POW is dear to me.
