Looking for reference to my GGF-George N. J. Mitchell who enlisted on 31 May 1861 in Pensacola, FL in the 1st Infantry Regiment Florida - He was also taken POW during the Dallas, GA campaign and taken to Rock Island prison then transferred in June or July of 1864 to Louiville, KY - He shows to have been released in March 1865 - He passed away in 1909 in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana - Any additional information on his whereabouts his release in 1865 to his death in 1909 would be appreciated.
