Hey, Art. Thanks for the post. I'm actually looking for sources outside of the CSRs to supplement the information I gather from them. Just like you said they do not tell the whole story in every case. Im hoping records from a prison might help fill in many holes. There are quite a number of men that after they were captured there are no more records on them. Also, of the men that took the oath and enlisted in US forces there are quite a few cases where it doesnt state what unit they joined.
