My grt grt grd father Wm. Martin Smith Confederate Calvary Sgt. was released in the summer of 1865 from Macon.

His release oath says he was in the 22nd Dragoons Calvary from TX or AL.

I know alot of the Units were merged as the war went on but does anyone know of this unit or regiment and the soldiers going to Macon,GA.
