I am putting together a primitive history of my g grandfather's experiences, and also the same for his two brothers. All three were captured at one time or another.
They were all men of the Army of Northern Virginia.
Somewhere, I have see an illustration, along with a prisoner's account, at some prison installation. The picture is probaly a pin and ink drawing, or perhaps the type of art that was used in the newspapers of that time.
I am guessing that the PIC might be of the cover of some soft cover account.
Does anyone recall seeing a PIC of some helpless individual, thin and gaunt and a face covered with despair. I would like to check out the copyright dates, and if possible get permission to use this drawing.
Gratefully
