Re: Military Parole & Exchange
In Response To: Re: Military Parole & Exchange ()

Charles,

I am in possession of a book entitled "The Comanches" by Frank N. Myers, which is the "original" history of the 35th Virginia Cavalry Battalion written by a member. I did a quick scan of the non-indexed, 400 pages and did not see a reference to a William Tribette. I did see several references to a John Tribbey. As time allows, I'll try to thumb through the book again and see if I can find a reference to your man. My wife's gg-granduncle, Thomas N. Torreyson was the color bearer/color sergeant of this unit and was grievously wounded at the battle of the Wilderness, May 6th, 1864 battling members of Custer's 6th MI Cavalry. He lost a leg.

I did find this info about your William H. Tribette at civilwardata.com, a service I subscribe to. As Hugh mentioned we would be honored to provide the Compiled Military Service Record for your veteran through the link below or the ad at the top center of the page.
