Mr. Elliott,

I am trying to find any information on my maternal GGF, named John A. Gregory. A may stand for Arthur. I cannot find anything on him. Before war, he was living in Macon Co., ALa. I did find a John Gregory from Macon Co., but he was born in Germany, so not right John. My John was born in NC. Thanks for any help or lead you might provide me. His birth may have been 1812. Would he have been to old to serve in Civil War?
