I am about to publish my book CIRCLE OF FIRE which details the Civil War career of the USS Susquehanna.
She was flagship of the blockading squadron when the Florida made her escape.
There was a court of Inquiry involving the Susquehanna's captain, COMMODORE ROBERT B HITCHCOCK.
I would be grateful if anyone could tell me the outcome of the inquiry - ie was Hitchcock exonerated??
