Re: Which ship were the prisoners taken?

You would sure think so Terry but no. I had to send away for the CMSR of one prisoner named JJ Colson. The Fort Delaware Society knew nothing about him because of its early history little is known about early prisoners.

The USS Wabash stayed in Southern Waters until the Spring of 62' when she towed a Spanish vessel called the Regla, to port up North.

I find it hard to believe that the Wabash would have held its prisoners that long. LOL

It appears that the USS Bienville would be the first to visit the North after the battle but nothing appears on the Bienville's deck log at least so says NARA.

According to Oral family history and the CMSR of NARA JJ Colson was taken to Fort Delaware from Hilton Head. But trying to confirm this is like traveling thur the twilight zone. LOL

I would like to hear of any ideas you might have Terry or anyone else.
