I believe the Rodgers reference is to Christopher Raymond Perry Rodgers who was commanding the Wabash at this time. There are many places that hold his papers that may be worth a check - The New York Historical Society; the Hagley Library in the S F DuPont papers (who commanded the fleet in this action), and at the Library of Congress in the Rodgers Family papers. Also serving with Rodgers on the Wabash at this time was John Henry Upshur, which may bring you more leads if you check for his papers. I also believe Roswell Hawks Lamson was then serving as Acting Master. There is a publication out (The Civil War letters of Lieutenant Roswell H. Lamson, by the McPhersons) that is worth a look too.
Hope this turns up something for you.
