Just an FYI
Got the newest National Geographic which includes an article on the recovery effort surrounding the S.S. Republic (originally commissioned S.S. Tenessee) which sank after the war on it's way from New York to New Orleans. She carried about $400,000 in coin, mostly 10 & 20 Gold pieces. Very interesting article. Not much in the way of history about the ship during war time though. Just thought people would like the heads up.
