I am interested in learning of specific examples of the use of coal torpedoes against "Anglo-Confederate" blockade runners. James Sprunt mentions that blockade runner engineers spoke of coal torpedoes being planted in their coal by fanatics. But I can only recall a few examples of boiler explosions on blockade running steamers, and those seem to have been attributed to other causes. I do not recall any other source which mentions coal torpedoes being used against blockade runners. Can any of the torpedo folks here suggest other sources?
