Elbert Sutliff was a shoo-in because he was born, brought up and enlisted just a few miles from where the General Lyon was constructed. I've chosen a Confederate prisoner and one civilian, plus Captain Ward - Hobart Walker seemed a likely prospect given his colorful Civil War career.
