I show an image of George Commodore on p. 183 of Bluejackets. The caption states he was a drayman in Baltimore before the war. After the Adolph Hugel was decommissioned, he acquired "a little piece of land across the river from Washington in Maryland where he lived with his family until his death in 1885.
