I am researching a veteran of the USS Queen City, by the name of Henry Barker. At age 13, he served as 1st Class Boy from 18 Oct 1863 until her capture and burning by Selby on 24 June 1864. The records in the Natl. Arcives state he was a POW. I am trying to find out if all 20 of the captured seamen from the Queen City were exchnged by Gen. N.B. Buford, or if they were taken to a specific prison. I find no confirmation of their disposition in the O.R. I am in the process of ordering a headstone from the VA to mark Henry's unmarked grave.
