Are you familiar with interlibrary loan? If you ask your local library to get a copy of the book for you, they will send out a request that goes to libraries all over the country, and get you a copy of the book. Might take a few weeks, but they can usually get just about any book you ask for. At least that way you could look the book over and see if it's worth the cost of buying one.
