On April 3, 1862 the City Class Gunboats Cincinatti and Pittsburgh, along with the Benton and three towed Mortar Boats, opened fire on Island No. 10. The Confederates had a floating battery in the area that received fire, cutting her hawsers and letting her drift. Has anyone ever come across images of this floating battery, either in drawing or photographic?
