USS Adolph Hugel

Searching for information about the namesake of the USS Adolph Hugel, a mortar schooner that belonged at one time to Porter's Flotilla and later the Potomac Flotilla, where it acted as a guard ship in the vicinity of Alexandria, Va.

I suspect the vessel may have been named for Adolph Hugel, a French-born Philadelphia merchant (the ship was launched in 1860 at Philadelphia). This man may be Baron Adolph David von Hugel, an American who moved to Canada sometime after the Civil War, where he was associated with railroads.

Any and all help appreciated.
