Baker Brothers Salvage Company

During the Civil War, J & B Baker Salavage Company raised the Dolphin, Plymouth, Germantown, and Merrimack for the Confederate government at Gosport Navy Yard. In 1866 or 1867, they salvaged the CSS Fanny and CSS Sea Bird, sunk in the battle of Elizabeth City. In 1874, they salvaged the CSS Virginia. They were still in business as Baker Bros. Salvage Co. in the late 1880s.

Does anyone have any information as to any other Civil War ships they may have salvaged or where their records are archived? Their wrecking yard was in Norfolk County, across the Elizabeth River from Gosport.
