Hello again,
I am glad the info was of some use to you. Like I said, I have a huge nest of folders I have created. When you open my "War for Southern Independence" folder you have a choice between USA or CSA. When you open say the CSA one, the you have two folders, CS Navy or CS Army. When you open the army one you have three folders, Infantry, Cavalry, or Artillery. When you open the navy one you have many folders; James River Squadron, Savannah River Squadron, etc.. When you open one of these you have several different folders, one for each ship I researched, each with pics I scoured the internet for and each ship with its info such as the info I posted pertainig to the CSS Richmond and Virginia II.. In fact, I tried to post a pic but it would not let me for some reason. If you are interested in any other ships, North or South, give me a holler at k98@elmore.rr.com .

But anyway, in answer to your question, no, I don't collect CSN artifacts. I wish I could afford it. But I do have a repro CS enlisted sailors' uniform, cutlass and leather goods that I got just because I think it is all neat. I was an infantry and cavalry reenactor for years. Due to family and work schedule problems (not to mention age and girth!), I finally gave all that up. I went to the National Civil War Naval Museum over in Columbus, Ga and was hooked on all things naval (Civil War), so I got the above mentioned gear in hopes of participating with the museum's own crew in demos, living history, firing their fully operational 7" Brooke Rifle, etc..

Due to my work schedule I never have done that, but I do wear the uniform to the museum on occasion. It is sort of neat. You feel more a part of it or something. I have been there a number of times and have seen reenactors there in uniform a number of times. I remember one time there were several naval reenactors, in uniform, there who had driven up from Florida. That is when I decided to get my uniform. Mine is the grey type with white cuffs and over the shoulder naval collar, not the whites (with blue cuffs and collar). I got mine from Hesson Clothiers, of "Grey-Jean" mateiral, not wool. The ones in the museum gift shop did not fit me at the time. They have a nice gift shop, with uniforms, books, etc.. If you have never been to that museum I recommend it.
Later,
