Re: George P. Canning, CSS Shenandoah.

Hank, and anyone else who has a major interest in sergeant George P. Canning, please contact me through my e-mail address at tfoenander@hotmail.com, as I want to discuss several important factors about Canning's serious lung wound, which has now totally convinced me that he never received this in battle at all, and definitely not while in Confederate military service. I have come to this conclusion after carefully putting together all the facts that we are aware of, thanks to his military service record, journal entries of personnel of the CSS SHENANDOAH, and other such documentary evidence available. It is now clear that Canning fabricated several details of his military service for some reason known only to himself. I would like to discuss these matters through e-mail, and not publicly. Many of these factors are not shown at my biography of Canning, at http://www.geocities.com/tfoenander/georgepcanning.htm, but will be placed online at a later stage. There is no doubt at all, now, that Canning had fabricated some details.
