U.S.S. Onondaga Atlantic Cruise?

The double turreted coastal ironclad U.S.S. Onondaga served in the James River after commissioning, her one engagement being the fracas at Trent's Reach against the C.S.S. Fredriksburg. She was sold to her designer after the war and resold to the French in 1867. Does anyone know the location of an account of her crossing of the Atlantic Ocean to France? The French rearmed her with 9.4" breechloading rifles and used her as a coastal ship until she was decommissioned in 1903.
