I am trying to find out more about the Confederate Steamers "Jeff Davis" and "Morganza". The man I am researching was supposed to be attached to the Confederate Secret Service. He was detached to the Steamer "Jeff Davis" on September 1, 1864 and captured onboard the Steamer "Morganza" on April 19, 1865 at New River, AL.
Any clues to what these ships were up to at this time period and what was brewing with the Secret Service in this theater of war?
