CW Encamp. at Fort Mervine, Presidio of Monterey

To inform you, that on OCT. 3,4,and 5th, 2008 at Old Fort Mervine, Monterey,California will be a Civil War Living History encampment. Hosted by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. Tent area is on the turf surrounding the Presidio Museum on the lower Quarter of the Presidio of Monterey California over looking Monterey Bay, and only a 10 minute walk if you want to jump in it. There are bathrooms on the grounds, participant parking is only 175 yards away from tent area. All Civil War groups,associations, organizations are welcome to participate and help Calfornias first capital, the city of Monterey celebrate HISTORY FEST 2008. Come and put up a display tent and promote your grp,Assoc.,org. There will be infantry drills and firing demo's twice a day. this is living history only, no battle reenactments. It would be nice to have a Civil war naval org/assoc./grp to participate since the port of Monterey was visited continuious by the Pacific Naval Squadron during the Civil War. if interested please contact: Sec.& Treas.: Tim P.
