Welcome, Dr. Lowry!
In Response To: US Navy court-martials ()

(I just wanted to repeat my welcome of Dr. Thomas P. Lowry here on the Civil War Navies Message Board. This was originally posted on the Georgia in the CW Message Board)

Dear Dr. Lowry,

I noticed your posting on the Civil War Navies Message Board and was in the process of writing you an email, when as a part of my monitoring of the message boards, I saw your posting on the Georgia in the CW Message Board.

I wanted to "officially" welcome you as a participant in our discussions on the History-Sites.Com message boards and I hope we'll see you regularly, in the future.

I'm sure most of our visitors and contributors are familiar with your Civil War era books, "The Story the Soldiers Wouldn't Tell: Sex in the Civil War", "Sexual Misbehavior in the Civil War", "Tarnished Scalpels: The Court-Martials of Fifty Union Surgeons", "Swamp Doctor: The Diary of a Union Surgeon in the Virginia and North Carolina Marshes", "Tarnished Eagles: The Court-Martial of Fifty Union Colonels and Lieutenant Colonels", "Don't Shoot That Boy! Abraham Lincoln and Military Justice", "Curmudgeons, Drunkards, and Outright Fools: The Courts-Martial of Civil War Union Colonels", "Confederate Heroines: 120 Southern Women Convicted by Union Military Justice" and "The Civil War Bawdy Houses of Washington, D.C.: Including a Map of Their Former Locations and a Reprint of the Souvenir Sporting Guide for the Chicago, Illinois, G.A.R. 1895, Reunion". I also know you have written several titles on other topics, as well, including a collaborative work with Ed Bearss on the Lewis & Clark Expedition.

As I stated at the beginning of this posting, I wish to extend to you a sincere welcome and tell you I am personally honored by your participation. Check your email!
