Garth, don't forget the numerous other families with two or more members in the Confederate Navy. In my research on the personnel, I have found a large number of family members who served, including some with up to three or four members in the service. No doubt there would have been families with many more members in the Army or Naval service, so it was not unique to the Whittles.
