John Lorimar Worden

I am doing research on Lt. John L. Worden of the U.S.S. Monitor.

In particular, his secret mission to deliver orders concerning Fort Pickens in Pensacola during April 1861.

I am seeking information on the following:

1. Information needed on USN Lieutenant John L. Worden’s

mission to Pensacola Florida April 7, 1861 to April 15, 1861

A. Being searched in Atlanta, and his destruction of orders, Any activities related to this event.

B. His activities in the Pensacola, Florida during this time.
C. A report on activities and his capture at Montgomery, AL on

April 13, 1861
D. Correspondence to and from his Wife, Olivia Worden Quaker Hill, NY
April 13, 1861 through November 21, 1861
E. Any information on her (Olivia Worden) activities to secure his release.
F. Any information on his return trip from Montgomery, AL to Norfolk, VA
Approx. November 21, 1861

Any debriefing reports to superiors on any or all the activities above.
