Searching for info on the Sternwheel River Boat Steamer, "The Morgan Nelson", owned by Captain Robert Withers and Augustus Levan Witherington. During the Civil War, this boat transported goods and munitions north from New Orleans to Camden, Arkansas. Said to have served the Confederacy under Major Latimer at the post at Ecore Fabre (Camden), Arkansas. Gus Witherington was the younger brother of my 3rd Gr-Grandfather, John Witherington. Gus was murdered in 1869 at Moro Bay, Bradley County, AR, where he operated a general store and the ferry across the Ouachita River between Moro Bay and Pigeon Hill in Union County, AR.
