There is also the 980 ton Danube. She was sunk in November of 1864 as part of the Spanish River defenses. She was originaly captured in Mobile in 1861 and belived to have been fitted with four 42 pound guns. Because it was a planned sinking one would belive they would have removed the guns.
There were two floating batteries in Mobile Bay just below Pinto Island along with the following batteries: Camel, McIntosh, Gladden, and Tilghman. The named batteries may have been floating batteries also but I can not prove it. There was also one floating battery at the lower mouth of Three Mile Creek (opening no longer exists or is covered).
Confederate gunboat The Gaines sank 500 yards NNE of Fort Morgan near the beach. She carried five 2 pound guns.
The USS Tecumseh sank just west of Fort Morgan after striking a torpedo.
The USS Oneida sank between Fort Morgan and Dauphin Island.
