Terry, no I have not checked these listings since I just learned of what part of the military he was in . His name Jacob F. Mentzer was from Lancaster Co., PA. Was found in the 1890 Vet Schedule and only listed "in Navy, Marine Corps Sept 1862-Apr 1867, 4 1/2 years".
