Im building a manuscript on the Adams-Gibson Louisiana Brigade of the Army of Tennessee. While digging into the CSRs I have found a large number of men, especially from New Orleans, that not only took the Oath but also enlisted in US forces. The majority of these galvanzied Louisianians enlisted in the U.S. Navy at Rock Island Barracks.

I am devoting a full chapter to the prison experience of the Louisianians which will also include breaking down oath takers and the ones that enlisted in U.S. forces. Would any of you wet feet have some good sources to hit to help elaborate on the men I know enlisted in the U.S. Navy? Is there something already compiled focused on galvanized sailors? Im interested in anything and everything on my Louisianians.
