Thanks for the info on how ship's logs worked. I presume the bound logbook was updated every 4 to 8 hours when the watch changed and a new officer took over, right?

I don't think that affects the way I used it, as a sworn document written that same day. True or not, it's the story everyone on the boat agreed to tell their superiors.
