Commander George M. Colvocoresses assumed command of USS Supply on 1 July 1861; by the end of June 1863, he was commanding USS Saratoga. His son, George P., born 1847, was captain's clerk on both ships, with an intervening year at Norwich University in Vermont. On 28 Sep 1864, he was appointed Midshipman, by virtue of being an officer's son, to the Naval Academy. Post-war, was with Dewey's squadron at Manila at the beginning of the Spanish-American War. Retired as Rear Admiral. He would have been 14-16 during the time his father commander the two vessels; my assumption is he was either a 'boy' or not enlisted at all. Pending further research.
