Vermonter in Confederate States Navy

I'm working on a book, "Green Mountain Mariners in the Civil War," about Vermont sailors and marines.

One of them resigned from USN and joined CSN during the war. He was, actually, born in my hometown, so there's a special interest.

Here's what I know of him so far:

James Edgar Fiske was born 24 April 1841, in Swanton, Vermont, the son of Zoroaster Fiske and his second wife Anna Minetta Vail. He was appointed Acting Midshipman, from South Carolina, in September 1857. He resigned from the academy on 16 April 1861, was appointed Midshipman in the Confederate Navy on 14 June 1861, and was initially assigned to side-wheel steamer Patrick Henry, the Confederate Naval Academy’s training ship, between July and September. He was promoted to Acting Master on 24 September 1861, and ordered to Mobile, serving at the New Orleans and Jackson Naval Stations, through at least April 1862. He was promoted to Second Lieutenant on 8 February 1862, and sometime that year ordered to the ironclad Tuscaloosa, Mobile Naval Station. Fiske resigned from the service on 29 December 1863.

Any additional war-time service and post-war biographical information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
