Les, according to the official reports (see pages 104 -113 of volume 8 of the ORN), the only vessels involved in the expedition against Franklin, Virginia, on October 3, 1862, were the COMMODORE PERRY, the WHITEHEAD and the HUNCHBACK. The COMMODORE BARNEY is indicated to have been at Norfolk, about that time, and is certainly not mentioned as being involved against Franklin.
