That would seem to indicate that we're both pretty familiar with Charles Rivers Ellet. I cover the capture of "Queen of the West" pretty thoroughly (I hope) in my soon-to-be-released history of Fort DeRussy, drawing a lot of information from Finley Anderson's generally unread account of the incident. (He was captured with the boat, and didn't write his detailed account of the capture until a year later, when he was released from prison.) I tried to be fair, but Ellet does not come out unscathed. Anderson's account reveals a lot of information that was not in the official stories. You definitely don't have to exaggerate to make Ellet look like an arrogant young fool.
