I have found references to negotiations between John Bankhead Magruder and the West Gulf Blockade commander to release three political prisoners to them at Galveston in June 1864. The prisoners were actually moved to Galveston, but no release occurred,and they were subsequently taken to Eagle Pass, Texas in July 1864 and put over the Rio Grande into Mexico.

Anybody out there have any info on this?
