A few years ago, my wife and I were involved with the disinterment and reburial of a Confederate colonel. We were looking through an old graveyard in Pineville, La., for an idea of what kind of marker to get the old man. We found what we both considered the perfect monument and used that as a model for the marker for our soldier. I later found out that the man who was buried under the original marker served as a coal heaver on the Webb and the Missouri. Both of those boats, by the way, had historical connections to the site at which our soldier was reburied.
