Johnson Hagood's Memoirs

Johnson Hagood, involved in the conflict as a general officer of the South, fought in South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. His memoirs of the period, "Memoirs of the War of Sucession" went unpublished until entered into print through the effort of his son Butler.
These memoirs are of interest to someone considering the naval aspect of the war due to Hagood's inclusion of naval forces encountered in operations. Hagood includes a count by type of vessels encountered and gives an assessment of naval presence matched only by R.E. Lee.
Muster roles of Southern forces included in this worthy tome.
