Hello all,
Does anyone know where an authentic copy of a Civil War Naval sailors' hammock can be found or if not that then a pattern for one? I have spoken to someone that makes CW Naval clothing and some other stuff, but he does not make hammocks. He said that the one guy he knew that did make quality, well made, authentic hammocks no longer made them. I wonder why he quit?

What were they made of? I figure they were made of some sort of heavy cancass or even sail cloth. Does anyone know?
