Re: Capt Ray, Charleston, SC CSA Navy

Could this have been Lieutenant Henry W. Ray, who served on the CSS CHICORA, and later commanded the Confederate States Receiving Ship INDIAN CHIEF, on the Charleston Station?
I have no record, in my CSN lists of a Robert Roland Hill, but then again, my lists are far from complete, and many of the names of CSN personnel have been lost to history because of the destruction of a large amount of CS Naval records. Secretary Mallory admitted as much in 1867, when he stated that many of the records of the Navy Department were destroyed on Richmond being evacuated in 1865. This caused much trauma for numerous Naval veterans when they later tried to apply for Confederate pensions.
