This weekend I dug up what appears to be a Civil War Era Shell.
The shell is 8 3/8 " high very pointed on the end..not blunt
Diameter: at base is 2 1/8"
Weight: 5.0 lbs
It is hollow with a 5/8 " threaded hole in the base.
The sabot appears to be made of copper or brass
The sabot is 3/4 " wide and is 1 1/2 " above the base of the shell.
Please identify. I can't seem to find one like this on the net...
Could it be WWI or WWII ?
