Hello Benny,
I grew up in Prattville and now live in Millbrook, about five miles from P'ville. When they set that gun there and had the little ceremony I took my 90 year old grandmother to Selma to see it. It was neat. I wore my Confederate reenactor's jacket and my grandmother and I sat in the small bleachers that were intended for family and dignitaries and watched the ceremony, speeches, etc.. No one said anything. I reckon they thought were part of the "to do".

By the way, you mentioned the inventory of the Tennessee after its capture. I am interesting to know what all was found on her and/or removed and inventoried. Do you have that list or any other info whatsoever on the CSS Tennessee? What I would give for the blueprints and deck plans for all decks of that ship. I am really into CS ironclads and the CSS Tennessee is my main area of study right now. If I ever win a lottery I will have her rebuilt and set in Alabama's waters once more.

I have some folders in my "My Pictures" file for several ironclads, with pics, some techn info, a bit of plans, etc.. If you are interested give me a hollar.
Thanks,
Dave
