Bradford's battery was not used for field operations but instead was used in a mostly static role. These guns were used to block the rivers below Richmond. A 12 pound heavy field gun used chiefly solid shot and shell ammunition. They had a limited use for cannister. The weight of the carriage was 1,128 lbs. without the implements. The weight of the gun was 1,800 lbs. A number of these guns were made and presently, two exist at Fredericksburg, in storage. These have "MISS" stamped on the gun, numbers 1152 and 1153 appear on the guns.
