Re: Trunnion to Ground Distance

Keith,

My primary concern is line of sight and not the trajectory therefore my "good enough" approach. Basically, I am putting a spotting scope on a tripod and marking the tripod where the height from the ground to the height where the trunnion center is which would be the center of the gun tube. This will allow me to check gun line of sight. I still have to work out how to determine elevation and depression of the various type of guns. This will help me determine gun line of sight and the limitations of shooting uphill or downhill.

I have a laser range finder so finding range will not be difficult.

Thoughts?

Respectfully,
