Re: 1st Wisconsin Ligtht Artillery

Keith and Ron,
I found a picture of the 1st Wisconsin Light Artillery in The Photgaphic history of the Civil Wat,by Francis Trevelyan Miller Vol 8 page 248.This is dated August,1864.They appear to be The parrot type.the picture is smalland my eye sight is not good also.
The Cicago Mercantile Light Artillery lost all of their guns at Sbine Cross roads. They where transported to New Orleans. At some point they received the guns horess aand equipment of the Battery G of the 5th U.S. Artillery. They jioned Gen Davidson in Baton Rouge in November for this expedition. This expedition ended up in Pascagoula ,Miss. This informantion I foud in Adjutant General's ReportThe history of the Chicago Mercantile Independent Light Artillery website. They also lost 30 horses in this expedition. For as the type of guns it is a question. Also in this expedition there was 10 regiments of Cavalry.the teh roads which they march was very horrible. The distance was betwen 300 to 400 miles. This took place clos to wher I live. Thanks for the help.I am still doing research on this.
