1st Question

I don't know the term, but when field pieces are placed "in battery" (I believe that's the term when they are placed in line to fire), what is the prescribed "wheel to wheel" distance between the guns?

2nd Question

When infantry is placed in support of field artillery, where are they? Are they behind the battery, interspersed with the guns, between the guns, to the each or one side of the guns? I've never understood exactly how infantry supports artillery.
