Marye's Fredericksburg Artillery at Gettysburg

Allen C. Redwood, a member of the 55th Virginia regiment, gives a touching account of an artilleryman identified only as "Jack" which was published in the August 1998 issue of Civil War Times Illustrated. Redwood learned that only two men of this battery, E___ (not further identified) and Jack were mortally wounded at Gettysburg, and he tells of Jack's last moments. Now it happens that the 55th may have been directly behind Capt. Edward A. Marye's Virginia battery of four guns during the grand cannonade on 3 July preceding "Pickett's" charge. Marye's battery had only two recorded dead, Lt. John Conway Eustace, and John Hancock Howison. This suggests that Howison is "Jack" but can anyone confirm it?
