Hello all,

I recently aquired a couple of CW shells that came from a Gettysburg area statue display that was removed. Anyway, I have what looks like a simple Parrot shell with cone shaped brass fuse intact, rabetted brass at the base like a type II would have, no narrowing at the base or rings. It is 16" long, 6.4" wide and 74.5 lbs. So my question is does this go to the 100 Pounder cannon? If so was this the short shell I have read about or a naval shell?

It also came with a round 8" Mortar Cannon shell that has a 2" thick outside layer. They used pipes welded to the drilled out fuse hole to stack these in a pyramid for display near the statue which rang a bell to me as to why I have such weird holes in a couple of my other shells.
