The 2-1/8" Woodruff guns appear to have fired a similar lead minie round (only larger of course.) For the Woodruff it is not the round the inventor originally specified (a simple iron grapeshot.) However, the lead round would be heavier and the higher sectional density would probably make it effective to a greater distance. From what I can tell these little 2-pounder Woodruff guns had the range and accuracy to take on mountain howitzers from a distance where the howitzers could not respond. Since both were ultra light they make some sense for skirmish weapons in the rugged Trans-Mississippi Missouri and Arkansas.
